COESIO launches the EVO2030 Program: a unique approach to eco-responsible corporate development

Positive impact at the heart of business

North American sustainability strategy and management consultancy COESIO announces the launch of the EVO2030 Program, which offers a continuous improvement approach to overall corporate performance in pursuit of the UN's seventeen (17) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030.

Background to 2030

Our planet is facing major economic, social and environmental challenges.

The scientific, political and social communities are unanimous. With the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) predicting that temperatures will rise by more than 4°C by 2100 at current rates, and anticipating catastrophic consequences for populations, managing the climate crisis is a matter of urgency. Added to this is the fact that planetary limits are gradually being exceeded, threatening the precarious yet essential balance of the biosphere. Finally, social crises and injustices are multiplying across the globe, while many fundamental rights are being eroded and the gap between people's incomes is widening.

The UN's Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global call to action to address the major economic, social and environmental challenges facing our planet. They define global priorities and aspirations for 2030, and aim to achieve a sustainable, resilient and inclusive society.

The SDGs came into being at the end of a consensus process following the 2015 Conference of the Parties in Paris. They are the result of the collective reflection of various actors in society and over 1,500 organizations around the world. Their contributions have made it possible to establish 17 ambitious goals and 169 binding targets to be achieved by 2030.

SDGs

The opportunities are many and varied - over US$12 billion by 2030 - and companies have a unique opportunity to use their creativity and capacity for innovation to contribute to the 17 SDGs.

Faced with this observation, exacerbated by the global pandemic of COVID19 , many players in our societies are urging Canadian business leaders and managers to assume their responsibilities and position themselves as key players in the socio-ecological transition, while aligning themselves with the 17 SDGs. But for companies, particularly SMEs, many obstacles stand in the way of this rapid and major transition to eco-responsible business models.

These obstacles include the following main elements:

  1. Executives and managers are confronted with a multitude of sustainable development benchmarks and standards - addressing products, companies and the value chain - on which they find it difficult to position themselves. Added to this is the difficulty of operationalizing central standards such as the 17 goals and 169 targets of the SDGs.
  2. The majority of strategic, tactical and operational planning structures in small and medium-sized businesses are currently unable to integrate eco-responsible business practices effectively and sustainably. As a result, many innovative eco-responsible projects end up being pushed off the corporate agenda for lack of effectiveness, return on investment and integration into overall business strategy.
  3. The vast majority of companies do not have the in-house expertise to tackle development. The disciplines are varied and complex (analysis of residual materials, quantification of greenhouse gas emissions, life-cycle approach, etc.), talent is scarce and the need for long-term investment clashes with short-term financial objectives.

The structure of the EVO2030 program

It is within this context that the EVO2030 Program originated. It aims to activate projects that will enable businesses to contribute to the SDGs, develop new competitive advantages, and accelerate the adoption of eco-responsible practices.

Based on the ISO 9000 quality management principles and systems, as well as on over 20 years of research and development with more than 80 organizations and nearly 200 mandates with managers and their teams, the EVO2030 Program is a continuous improvement process, enabling managers to better develop their knowledge and skills, and to aim for better overall performance, including economic, social, environmental and governance aspects.

Rooted in solid conceptual foundations aimed at global performance, this program for accelerating sustainable development in business is unique and centralized in an integrated EVO approach comprising a diagnostic phase, strategic planning, operational efficiency and accountability. A committee is set up, and a diagnosis of 23 organizational issues and a global sector benchmark are carried out. The EVO2030 program then enables you to plan, activate and communicate your eco-responsibility projects according to best management practices and a credible approach.

In parallel, five (5) activation scopes are deployed to the EVO integrated approach, to support decision-making with credible initial data and best practice benchmarking. GHG and energy; GMR and circular economy; Responsible sourcing; Life cycle. These perimeters enable us to draw up initial assessments, formulate technical projects, explore the best feasibility hypotheses, draw up a realistic roadmap for annualized reductions in negative impacts on the environment and, above all, accelerate your company's trajectory by reaping maximum benefits in the short, medium and long term. The complementary expertise of our collaborators, involved according to the context and the targeted projects, is also accessible in our interventions, to help accelerate decision-making. We put our network to work so that you can count on the best technical resources available.

A real sustainable development team supports the deployment of the EVO2030 program in your company, with your managers and internal committees. Deployment is accelerated over a period of 6 to 12 months. The aim is to save you time and significant costs in preparing eco-responsibility projects, by giving you access to all the resources that multinational companies can count on. It's a "fast track" program to help you steer your company's trajectory towards improved global performance by 2030 (governance, economic, social, environmental). It's an opportunity to reach your full potential, right now.

All of this is supported by a set of digital tools that facilitate exchanges, data collection and visualization, strategic thinking exercises and decision-making for your company.
